Small Miracles

            For the past five days and nights, I have lived with the seven archangels. Now that it is time for them to be passed on in a sort of chain mail blessing, I am feeling a little possessive and don’t want them to go. Their visit with me has been incredible.

            Of course there is a clash of worlds and beliefs in the act of opening my front door in the middle of the night and standing breathless waiting for unseen spirits to fly in. I was suddenly filled with true awe, the way I have felt before in the face of spiritual presence, whether with people, events, places or spirits. The clash of worlds in these events is between science and faith,. Now can they come together to make sense of what happened?

            Holding these two belief systems in both hands, I must resolve both the scientific and the spiritual. There is no other way that I know how to understand and be fulfilled by my experiences. These two  seeming opposites can occasionally, with great delight, come together in a magical union. And sometimes they do not.

            Small miracle number one-at the beginning of this time, a book by Carlos Castaneda’s wife, Margaret Runyan Castaneda,  “A Magical Journey with Carlos Castaneda” suddenly turned up by the phone. I grabbed it and started reading. It is the story of how Carlos Castaneda also struggled with these two worlds. For him it was the worlds of academic anthropology and the Mexican Yaqui magical systems of apprentice and shamanic powers. He managed to walk between these two worlds and in this way was able to bring ancient wisdom to millions of readers.     

     

  I can only describe my own experiences and try to explain how these two belief systems can be resolved. You will of course , see your own reflection in my record.

            This chain blessing was first developed by a German psychic and she encouraged people all over the world to participate in an invitation to bring peace and joy to the world.  I wasn't all that enthusiastic about this project because archangels are not really part of my tradition. but these intentions alone seemed good enough for me to try this.

            First, I cleaned the house. Not spotless but certainly as if guests were coming to stay. That alone was a huge relief and felt good. I sprayed the house with rose water, dusted, vacuumed and tidied up the front porch. I knew that the front entrance would be the first place they would see so I swept away the leaves and trimmed old flower stalks. Then I prepared the altar with a white cover, a white flower (two actually) white candles, and a card with my wishes written on it.

Here are some small miracles that happened during this time:

·         I received more money during these five days than I have during any other five day period during the entire year. Not to sound too materialistic, but I really appreciated the extra bonuses that came my way.

·         I received two certifications that I had been waiting for a long time. One of them will also bring my more prosperity in the New Year.

·         The little electronic candles that I burned on the altar were supposed to last up to 48 hours, they are all still burning after seven days.

·         I met several people during this time that I had become estranged from and was able to re-establish contact again and heal our relationship!One relationship which was not what it seemed, was let go.

·         I have incredible dreams the entire five nights -I wrote them down and journaled about their wisdom. I don’t know if I absorbed all the wisdom that was given to me in my dreams, but I will keep my notes and reflect on them over the next year.

Well I think that was enough!

You could say that it was my own expectations that created the goodness that came from this event, and this could also be true. The brain does not differentiated between was is real and was is imagined, so imagining the angels here is as good as having them here in a “real” sense.

Try This!

1.      During this magical and powerful period before and directly after the solstice, ask some lighted beings to be with you for five days.

2.      Prepare a shrine for them, put powerful objects in anticipation of their staying with you for the time allotted-flowers, incenses, burn a candle the whole time. It will be a reminder for you each time you look at the light that you are hosting spirits, guides and essences who go with you. Write out three wishes and put those into an envelope on the shrine. Also put a piece of fruit on the shrine and a crystal. You can eat he fruit when they are gone and you can keep the crystal which will be charged with their energy.

3.      Determine an exact day and time that they will turn up and greet them at your front door with their name(s). Welcome them as if they were standing in front of you.

4.      When the five days are up, open your front door again and send them off to another place where they can give healing and love. Eat the fruit, burn the card with the wishes, put the flower back into the earth, place the crystal in a powerful place where you want guidance e.g. by your computer, by your bed.
