Chapter 23 Recovery from the suicide of a loved one
This is an except from a longer session from the channelled
fellowship of the River. This fellowship channelled through a medium for about
thirty years. They are still present to those who wish to contact them. The
whole of this session will appear in the River Books: Book Two- All
knowledge is within, All knowledge is Without (due to be published in
September 2026).
A more extensive exploration of their sessions can be found in
the first River book-The River Books: Book One-Three Soul Paths

I include this excerpt because so many people in these
difficult times are choosing suicide, either overtly or in ways that appear to
be unintentional. his act leaves ripples
of intense grief, loss and confusion, especially around questions of ‘why?’.
This session was particularly significant to me because for
many years following the death of my first husband, I believed that he had taken
his own life. I lived with a roller coaster of emotions raging through all the
five stages of grief-shock, anger, bargaining, grief and sometimes briefly
acceptance. Then during a plant medicine session, I was shown how he had died. I
saw that he was murdered, not suicided. This made so much sense to me since he
had never contemplated suicide before and although a dour man, had many moments
of joy and hope for the future.
I have since done my own investigation into his death and
discovered that the information given to me during my plant medicine session
was correct. Initially his death was deemed a suicide by the local RCMP but
there were questions about the validity of that conclusion at the first inquest.
There was another inquiry and the inquest determined that he had died by a gun shot
wound ‘by person or persons unknow’. Those people were never identified.
I don’t want to cogitate any longer on my first beloved’s
death. I know enough to confirm that it was a murder and the RCMP tried to
cover it up as a suicide to escape a lengthy and expense inquiry. The Staff
Sargent, who passed on in 2023 believed that my beloved wasn’t worth a
respectful inquiry and inquest because he thought it was just another drug gang
related crime. I discovered through my research that this
Staff Sargent was reprimanded for the cover up of my husband’s murder and was moved
to another assignment. This wasn’t the
first charge of misconduct against this man, so my husband’s murder cover up
was just one in a long list of corruption.
Those lies traumatized me, our son, his parents and our
larger community in ways that were unimaginably harmful. There is a part of me
that wants revenge, but as I often tell myself, I’m not in charge of Karma. From
my research, the Staff Sargent died a horrible and painful death. I’m sorry
about that, but I hope his soul will now rest in peace.
This session followed the news that a friend of ours had recently
committed suicide. Her husband found her body and was naturally very upset.
This suicide was unexpected. Her husband stated that she seemed to be happy, they
were building their dream home. However, but she had received news that their
dream home had gone over cost and it was uncertain if they could afford to
finish it. She would have to work for several more years before she could enjoy
retirement. I wasn’t close to this woman, so these are details that were told to
me by others. Her husband asked for advice and information about her death.
This session can not answer everyone’s questions about
losing a loved one by suicide, but it might give some insight to what can happen
after self determined death and may give some solace to those who are left behind.
From previous questions from other in our circle, suicided
souls usually incarnate quickly and find circumstances similar to the ones they
left because their learning was interrupted. This is not always the case, but
often, especially if the self determined death is for emotional reasons, they
will yearn to return quickly to finish their soul tasks.
I hasten to add that if you are contemplating suicide,
please contact emergency services in your area and get some help. Suicide
always leaves widening circles of sorrow and should not be contemplated unless there
is long consideration with a professional and circumstances that fulfill the requirements
of Medically Assistance in Death (M.A.I.D.).
Julia: I wonder if you can send some healing to an L? [The
woman who recently committed suicide.]
River: This woman of whom you speak up has already been
reborn. This lifetime has much more potential for growth. This new incarnation
will create blessings, and great harmony. She has learned and loved much in
this lifetime. She is already incarnated again.
Julia: That was fast!
River: Sometimes agreements happen fast. You may tell her
husband this. He may not understand, but he will understand in some way that
his former partner has already begun again with a family who is more conducive
to her wholeness. She is a wanted baby, there is much joy in her new family.
I relayed this information to her husband and, as the River
stated, he wasn’t sure be believed in multi dimensional lives, but he was
comforted by the thought that wherever she was, that she was alright and taken
care of. I lost touch with her husband after this session, but I heard from
mutual friends that he did mange to finish the house, retire and move into it.
I am not a trained medium, however, I have had reliable mediums
give me readings from those who have passed on. A good, authentic medium will
give evidence that could only come from the person who has passed on. I’ve had
this experience, the medium was able to tell me details about the person they
were contacting which they could not have possibility known. I realise that its
popular in dominate culture to denigrate the idea of multi-dimensional lives,
however many people have memories from other times when they were living other incarnations.
There are many reliable examples of hypnosis patients giving verifiable details
from other lives.
In my practice if a client is suffering from the sudden loss
of a loved one that is completely unexpected or incomprehensible, I ask what
their beliefs are about life after death. If they believe that consciousness is
eternal and can not be destroyed, only transformed, then I suggest they find an
authentic medium and see if they can contact the being. I don’t pretend to
fully understand how this can be done, but I have seen this kind of mediumship
bring lasting relief to grieving mothers, fathers, sisters, brother, close
friends and other loved ones.
And for me-that enough.
Be well. Be happy. Be healthy. Be free.
