Chapter 14 Rituals of Integration-Honouring the Three Worlds of Gaia

Humanity has developed an egregious quality of imagining we are separated from our environment. I often offer this suggestion to climate change deniers and other disrespectful consumers of the world’s resources: take a deep breath and hold it, hold it some more, hold it some more. When you can’t hold it any longer, let it go. Now you know the benefits of the environment. You simply can’t live for more than a few minutes without air, which is a direct and intimate expression of the environment.

Humanity has come to believe that we are the alpha predators and therefore we have an innate right to consume all the resources of our planet without respect or consideration for consequences of our actions towards the multitude of beings which make our lives possible. This attitude has led to a vast destruction of the environment, to the point where we are at risk of destroying our home, for ourselves and for future generations. It is also causing violence and suffering in many parts of the world due to wars and conflicts over increasingly scare resources.

This mass suicidal attitude comes from disconnection with our world, and especially the three worlds of Gaia which aren’t human but nevertheless hold consciousness and influence our lives in thousands of interactions every moment. The three worlds of Gaia are: inanimate, plant and animal, in order of complexity, but not in order of importance.

There is much that can be said about the harm that we inflict on the animal world. Of course, we are animals too! But we forget that often when we cruise through a grocery store grabbing food in an unconscious way. The dishonourable use of the animal world is causing great illness, physical, mental and spiritual in the human world. Also, the tiny members of this world, viruses and bacteria are turning against us as marauders and attackers and mutate to create illness in us as a means of protecting their other soul members. Look at the disaster of the COVID pandemic, caused by a virus mutating in creatures that were captured and tortured in live animal markets in Asia.

This is a transcript carrying on from the conversation about integration.

Julia: Could you say more about how to honor the animal world?

River: The animal world is linked some ways and can be honored by harmlessness. The animal world has been greatly missed used by an indifferent human world. Therefore, its growth has been towards a negative collective consciousness. It has been forced into an antagonistic position with humanity. This is greatly evident in disease, greatly evident towards the use of meat within the human world causing illness.

It is not so much that the eating of meat is harmful or painful in the animal but the non honoring and dishonouring of the very life force and the gift of the giving has caused the collective consciousness of the beings in the animal world to be antagonistic towards that of humanity. You your self know this.

The rate of mutation within the smallest beings in the animal world is a direct cause, a direct product of the misuse of all animals. For what happens to one animal happens to all. At this point the consciousness of all animals has become very evolved with the intent of harm to all humanity.

For plants, they have not reached the stage of being very aware of themselves. But it is rapidly changing, so rapidly that disease too becomes part of its action of its consciousness.

We would suggest that stones, precious pieces of wood, and bones of animals can be used in a practice as a meditative force to remember to pour out love and rightness into all three realms of earth consciousness: inanimate, plant and animal. Keep in the altar area, a bone (animal world), a piece of wood (plant world) and a rock to honor the three realms.

It is interesting is it not the play of three in all realms? They are linked and must be joined and eventually let go of. We will end now. Joy in the journey!
